Work Outfits/Makeup

As a makeup artist I like to be able to have relatable makeup looks. Especially in Utah where people aren't really big on the art of makeup. The MAC makeup counter here isn't not like the ones you see in other states. It's more of a natural counter then a extreme makeup counter.

We still like to have fun, but we like to keep it more pretty then crazy. I try to take natural up a notch also as well because while I'm trying to have a not so dramatic face, it still needs to be something people think is different as unique as well.

I probably have the best job, ever. I get to make people feel better about themselves. I love that I can change someones day by making them feel pretty or confident.

I went for a natural face and dramatic eye. My usual focal point is always skin.

I opted for a glossy instead of matte lip. It gives your lips a fuller effect if just applied in the middle.

I wore crazy huge lashes with this look so I went for a cranberry crease & a nude lip.

I tried to focus mainly on my bottom lash line. I took the color a lot farther down then normal.

I loved this look! I use a purple shadow to create dimention without over doing it.

My favorite hand accessory.

I have to wear all black to work. I love wearing black in general so this wasn't a very hard transition for me. I thought I'd show you guys how to wear all black.

Black looks great with lots of different textures. Sometimes, I love wearing different color blacks, too. It gives people more to look at then just a plain all black outfit, with no dimentions.

I'm wearing a plain black maxi skirt, a laced bandeu top, and a leather vest.
I love all of the different textures in this look.

This sheer top with the little train on the back is perfect. I love everything about it. I paired it with high waited black skinnies and military boots.

These are so comfortable and easy to wear with anything.

I wore a tight black t-shirt, with faded black jeans and leather over the knee boots.
Simple but chic.

My favorite skirt ever. This one has slits in the front. It gives it a little more spunk.
I tucked in a plain black shirt.

I took a plain over sized black tee and tied the front a into a knot so it was a little more fitting, and let it hang off my shoulder.
I paired it with leggings and boots.

Lately, I've been obsessing over light nails. Something about the fresh clean looks always draws my attention. I love that they will match and go with anything you wear. Whether it's light pink, nude, or even white. I love the way a fresh clean manicure looks with those colors.

I've been loving ESSIE: Topless and Barefoot. I have probably been looking for this color for about a year and it is so hard to find but I finally got my hands on it. It's beautiful. If you can find this color I totally reccomend it for any skin color.

ESSIE: Topless and Barefoot

Also, ESSIE: A Crewed Interest.  In the same nude family but have slight pink and orange undertones. Something suttle but not too pink. I LOVE.

Michael Kors & Fresh Makeup

My black leather jacket is really out of control. I decided to pick up this purple one the other day from Forever 21 because I needed some color in my life. This is the perfect pop of color to any outfit.

I love colored jackets with all black/neutral oufits. It evens it out, perfectly.

I love all of the small detailing on this jacket. The lining on the neckline and the shoulders is perfect. Also, the cut of this jacket is so nice. The way they cut the zipper makes the jacket open so nicely.

Fresh face makeup is so in for fall right now, along with dark lips. I opted to go with natural makeup for Thanksgiving due to the fact I'd be eating so I didn't want to have to worry about my lipstick if I decided to go with a dark lip.

Seen on so many celebrities this year is this makeup look, mostly know as "no makeup" makeup look. Very suttle makeup, more concentrated on contouring natural areas of your face and focusing on better looking skin.

I threw on some comfortable red jeans and a loose black blouse for Thanksgiving dinner. I wanted to keep it festive so that's why I chose red. Also wanted to keep it comfortable and casual. I thought this was the perfect combo for thanksgiving.

I threw my hair up so that it was out of my face and I really focused on my skin for my makeup. I kept everything else very light.

My all-time favorite accessory has got to be my Michael Kors watches. I wear my Gold one every single day. I can't go a day with out it. It the best investment, ever!

I totally got my moneys worth because I wear it everyday and get so many compliments on it.

Things I'm Loving....

There's always items in your closet that you wont ever get rid of. That's how I always feel about things I'm loving at the moment. Once my moment is over, I try to get rid of things in my closet that I don't wear anymore, which doesnt happen quite often.

But, I do like to use the theory that when I buy something new I need to get rid of something which sometimes works. These are some of the staple piecies I've just recently been loving, and some I've loved for years that I will probably never get rid of.

White jeans:
Mostly love them in the summer but I'll still rock it in the winter.

My exact jeans are by one of my favorite brands Hudson. I love everything about these jeans! They're so comfortable, and they fit like a glove.

Red Jeans:
I've always loved the pop of color with red jeans. I think it's an easy way to step out of your comfort zone without over doing it.

Mint Blazer:
Not really a trend but I do love this look. Its a staple look. I took it down a few notches and paired it with a pair of destroyed jeans.

Fedora:
Always my go too look when my hair isn't havin it.  I love the effortless look.
Especially black.

Cheetah:
I personally am a fan of anything cheetah print. So I love this outfit. Khloe rocked it! I love how she paired it with leggings and sandels to dress it down a little bit. It looks fab, considering the Kardashians are always known to be over dressed.

 Chinese Laundry boots:
I saw these boots on Kourtney Kardashian and knew I had to have them. They're so comfy and perfect for the days where you don't feel like wearing black boots (which is a closet essential).

The exact taupe color is no longer available, but this brown color is a must have as well. Especially for this fall. They're perfect!

Chinese Landry Boots:

Leather Jacket:
I think this is a staple piece for ever womans closet. You can literally wear this with anything. I love the efforless look it gives but I also love that you can dress it up. You could pull of so many different looks with a leather jacket, its so versatile!

Nicole Rickie is probably my biggest fashion icon. She always looks so chic and effortless. I love every single piece shes wearing in this picture. She wore the leather jacket perfectly.

High Ponytails:

LOVING! I'm a makeup artist at MAC counter. So, I love pulling back my hair so I don't seem like too much. It's also good for days you don't want to do your hair.

Dark Vampy Fall Lips: 2012 Beauty Trend

Spotted all over the runway this season were dark red, burgundy and some almost black lips. This trend is very daring just like all trends can be but especially with makeup you can easily mess this up. If worn right, this trend is everything! This trend, is meant to rock at night time. I personally think, to kill this look you need to keep everything else to a minimum. Ashley Olsen did it perfectly.

Her effortlessness killed this! She kept everything else very bare while her lips took all of the attention. A little contour and mascara and she rocked it. I love how she didn't over do it with her hair either. It's pulled back and messy.

If you're more of the daring type, wearing a full face of makeup with your dark lip won't be difficult for you. When you're keeping things heavy on the face it's easy to look over done and messy. When you're including a dark lip, those two things get vamped up to the max. When you're wearing a lot of makeup and a dark lip, you need to make sure you have everything perfect. Absolutely Perfect.

Camilla Belle killed this look at the MET ball this year. Her bronzed glow went perfectly with all of that makeup. She went with a nude look, and a dark lip.

She wore a nude Ralph Lauren dress to tone everything else down as her face was the main part of her look. Since she decided to do a dark sultry eye with her lips, she opted to no blush and a dress with no color so it wouldn't distract her face. Amazing!

Emma Stone opted for a lighter but still dark lip. As she wore a black dress, any darker would've washed her out. Since she went for a lighter lip, she was able to pull off more eye makeup. She was also able to do a more structured hair look, which came out beautiful. Her green eyes also complemented the lip color.

The detailing on her dress is out of this world! The neck line is everything. Sexy but still sophisticated. She definitely rocked this look.

Her dress is from the Gucci 2012 Fall collection. She attended the London premiere of 'The Amazing Spider Man' in this amazing gown.

As a makeup artist, I like to try out different beauty trends. This is one of my favorites by far so I've rocked this look a few times myself. The key to this look I think is sharp edges. You don't want to look like you have messy lipstick.
