Dark Vampy Fall Lips: 2012 Beauty Trend

Spotted all over the runway this season were dark red, burgundy and some almost black lips. This trend is very daring just like all trends can be but especially with makeup you can easily mess this up. If worn right, this trend is everything! This trend, is meant to rock at night time. I personally think, to kill this look you need to keep everything else to a minimum. Ashley Olsen did it perfectly.

Her effortlessness killed this! She kept everything else very bare while her lips took all of the attention. A little contour and mascara and she rocked it. I love how she didn't over do it with her hair either. It's pulled back and messy.

If you're more of the daring type, wearing a full face of makeup with your dark lip won't be difficult for you. When you're keeping things heavy on the face it's easy to look over done and messy. When you're including a dark lip, those two things get vamped up to the max. When you're wearing a lot of makeup and a dark lip, you need to make sure you have everything perfect. Absolutely Perfect.

Camilla Belle killed this look at the MET ball this year. Her bronzed glow went perfectly with all of that makeup. She went with a nude look, and a dark lip.

She wore a nude Ralph Lauren dress to tone everything else down as her face was the main part of her look. Since she decided to do a dark sultry eye with her lips, she opted to no blush and a dress with no color so it wouldn't distract her face. Amazing!

Emma Stone opted for a lighter but still dark lip. As she wore a black dress, any darker would've washed her out. Since she went for a lighter lip, she was able to pull off more eye makeup. She was also able to do a more structured hair look, which came out beautiful. Her green eyes also complemented the lip color.

The detailing on her dress is out of this world! The neck line is everything. Sexy but still sophisticated. She definitely rocked this look.

Her dress is from the Gucci 2012 Fall collection. She attended the London premiere of 'The Amazing Spider Man' in this amazing gown.

As a makeup artist, I like to try out different beauty trends. This is one of my favorites by far so I've rocked this look a few times myself. The key to this look I think is sharp edges. You don't want to look like you have messy lipstick.
